Work in progress- faux raku thrown pot

i painted this pot with random orange peel spray paint, when dry sprayed a coat of sand tectured paint over it for texture. Added some pieces of cheescloth and other bits of paper. allow to dry. Paint the whole piece with black acrylic. let dry thoroughly. Start the layering of stewaret gill paints all metallic type paints, dark gold, afterglow, verdigris, opal and excelcius. i will continue to add until it looks right to me.

Hi Betty, popped over from Roses on the Table. Loving your blog. Interested in this post as I trained as a potter. If you ever get the chance to do raku for real do say yes, it's so exciting. Love the finish you have got on this piece :)
