Thanksgiving

The year has turned its circle,

The seasons come and go.'

The harvest all is gathered in

And chilly north winds blow.

Orchards have shared their treasures,

The fields, their yellow grain,

So open wide the doorway~

Thanksgiving comes again
Can't wait to start the dinner, all the supplies are in so nothing to do but cook , Love the smells and the process of adding all those wonderful herbs and spices, basting the turkey and making that wonderful gravy, Even the mashed potatoes are a special with their sour cream, heavy cream, butter and Salt and pepper. This year we have apple caramel salad, butterscoth pies, pumpkin pie, apple pie, and banana split cake for dessert. Sides are sweet potato casserole, scalloped corn, green bean casserole, creamed onions, sausage and herb stuffing and lots of condiments and appetizers, Can't wait for Wednesday to come, the Turkey is thawing in the fridge. I started cooking Thankgiving when I was 26 and have only went other places, maybe 7 or 8 times since. love it!! This is the day to open the Christmas Village also!
