Memory box!!
This is a Memory box I made with the RAIL group at Roses at my table. Zinnia is a wonderful teacher and the class is a lot of fun to do.Very clear instruction and ideas to make it your own. It is for my niece and has 3 file folders and going to hold a journal (matching and a calender) Putting a couple of drawer sachets in it for a lovely scent.
Thanksgiving and the Opening of the Christmas Village!!
The village is about 7 ft by 7 ft. Doors cover it when not in season. The snow has to be changed every 3 or 4 years. What a job, the street lights were bought when I started about 15 years ago and have never been replaced , they light every year and a bulb has never burned out.I can't add any more to it except for trees, add trees every year.
Happy Thanksgiving!! roasting chesnuts!
How to roast chesnuts, put oven on 425 wash and dry chesnuts, cut a cross in the flat side of each chesnut thru to the nut. put in baking pan and roast for 20 minutes. peel while warm. Yummy!

Thanksgiving
The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.'
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway~
Thanksgiving comes again
Can't wait to start the dinner, all the supplies are in so nothing to do but cook , Love the smells and the process of adding all those wonderful herbs and spices, basting the turkey and making that wonderful gravy, Even the mashed potatoes are a special with their sour cream, heavy cream, butter and Salt and pepper. This year we have apple caramel salad, butterscoth pies, pumpkin pie, apple pie, and banana split cake for dessert. Sides are sweet potato casserole, scalloped corn, green bean casserole, creamed onions, sausage and herb stuffing and lots of condiments and appetizers, Can't wait for Wednesday to come, the Turkey is thawing in the fridge. I started cooking Thankgiving when I was 26 and have only went other places, maybe 7 or 8 times since. love it!! This is the day to open the Christmas Village also!
