Printing on tissue paper!!
This is a 3.5 x 8 piece of plywood that I crackled and added a tree and a poem printed on tissue paper. I then laid a coat of decoupage on the surface where the tree and poem would go, gently laid the images on the decoupage and stippled with a small brush dipped in decoupage. My decoupage solution is half and half elmers glue and water. Added distressing with inks and a picture of french children. Glue the tissue to a piece of cardstock with a good glue stick , leave a 1 inch margin around the tissue. Make sure the tissue is stuck otherwise the printer will grab it instead of the cardstock. Let me know if you try it. Very nice see thru image.
You can also press it on freezer paper with an iron and run it thru, but you have to be very careful when you remove it from the FP, easy to rip. Just another option.
I love this and can't wait to try the tissue paper trick. Thank you for sharing. Blessings!
ReplyDeletethis is beautiful. Have you tried using the tracing or tissue that come in a pad? I use them all the time in my printer and don't have to glue to anything..make sure you put in a straight (not wrinkled end) only one piece of tissue at a time and not printer paper underneath or it will grab the paper and the guides should be against the tissue....this works for me.... just an idea if you wanted to try it.
ReplyDeleteThis is very beautiful, I ove your work. thank you for sharing.

very nice- I love transparent images!
ReplyDeleteVery nice results! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the comments, No I did not change the settings. The tissue is wrapping paper tissue, really thin. I think that is why the edges become invisible. It like disappears.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Love your poem choice too. Thanks for sharing. Have a beautiful, wonder filled day.
ReplyDeleteI assume that you glued the leading edge of the tissue to the card stock which was the carrier through your printer. then you removed the card stock and glued the printed tissue to the crackled board. Am I right?
ReplyDeleteI print on tissue paper all the time - and you're right, if the tissue isn't adhered well to the carrier sheet, you have a big ol' inky mess!
ReplyDeleteYour results are stunning - I really love it. Great job!! Thanks for sharing! xx
Thank you for sharing your technique. The results are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCan you clarify for me, are you gluing the tissue paper to the card stock just around the edge? Then cutting it away after printing?
I'm looking forward to trying this!
Yes just around the edge and then pull it loose or cut it loose.
ReplyDeleteWonderful tutorial! Love the results.
ReplyDeleteWhat brand of crackle paint do you use. This is a beautiful. I love the composition!
ReplyDeleteThat is an absolutely great effect. Thanks so much for sharing...that is the mark of a great artist!!!
