Changing the doll dress banner

Had to make a larger banner and posted the pics but wasn't happy with how they looked, even tho, each part was a separate paper. Going to work on them a little more. Tried the 3 ring notebook yesterday to make into an altered journal. Started with iris folding technique , I love this and will pot pictures later of this craft. I'm not into scrapbooking but these would make a lovely card. I will use them for other purposes. Haven't added my "School daze" assembage yet here, but the picture is in the group. PID. Laundry today, pillows and all the bedding. What a way to waste a lovely day. Cleaning the oven.

new work added

The little dresses are for a doll drees banner challenge at PID. The other "sewing fairies" is a background with ripped collage sewing notions sheets and gesso and acrylic paint All the images are from PID(Paper Imagery Designs) This was a lot of fun. The dresses are fabric with aprons, lace ribbon and images.
The 2 page spread pages are from a RR book . This is the last leg of the journey which began in April and included 9 other artists. We have all stayed on track for this project which I think is amazing.I am very excited about getting my book back with all of the work by this group.
A few days ago however one of out girls lost a son . So Sad for her and her other family members. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

A few pics

september post

Haven't done this for a long time, been busy with other things and health issues. Joined the PID group and am really having a lot of fun with the challenges the mingles and Thursday techniques. Done some different backgrounds and inchie cubes , will put pics in later -paper towel background and ink techniqwe backgrounds. Also worked on 2 mosaic garden balls for friends very sparkley with a lot of iridescent tile and mirrors. Really happy with that. Jerry and I bought an unfinished buffet for the front entry and I tiled the top with a large 16" plate and all broken china pieces-burgundy wood with antique brass handles on drawers and doors- dry brushed black on high points. Will put in pics tomorrow. Doing a round robin book with a great group of girls and it will be done on Sept. 29th, Am so anxious to get my book back and see all the work by the other artists. So much for now.

Just a note

I worked on a couple of pieces just to play around with the joint compound for backgrounds. Have been using this stuff for years cause I was married twice to dry wall men. It is so useful for so many things, like stenciled wall words and just plain stencils. This time I used it for backgrounds on these 2 wall hangings. Worked great like always. (no chipping or flaking) and took to glimmer mist and alcohol inks like a champ. My next is a old time wedding picture with a lace background.
It lasts forever in a cottage cheese carton and does not dry up or anything like spackle does. So that is this weeks project.
The other is a large garden piece I am working on with mosaic tile to mix among the flowers. My son in law made the form from sheet metal and I think it is going to be a stunner. It is 4 foot tall and has a finial atop.I will pot a picture of it but the pictures are not uploading today on here, I've tried lots of times.
I have been watching the 3rd season of gray's anatomy today (on and off)Now this is real TV. Making swiss steak and polenta for dinner.
I really hope somebody reads all this and tries the dry wall mud. I also put a deposit on a little brindle shitzu ,he was born on the 5th of march. Think I will name him Cubby. Can't wait to bring home this little sweet thing. -8 weeks.

Time to put some thoughts down.

This day is kind of a wash, caught by a song and grabbed me for the day-This "Killing the blues" really didn't kill the blues for me but have listened to the song endlessly. I have been seen(in the song) swinging the world by it's tail. If anyone reads this listen to this beautiful song. Allison krause and robert Plant
A book round robin is beginning (the first for me) I think it is going to be fun and challenging and a chance to see other people's work up close and personal. Have a boy's book in the works and also a house book.
All the men in the world are mourning the loss of Brett farvre, because we are in Wisconsin and the Green Bay Packers are Wisconsin. I only wish my mind was so free that I would actually care if a football player retired.
Will hope for a better and more productive day tomorrow.

Italian shadow box-No. 3 in series

Italian box-series 3
Another box in the series-Flemme Valley in the mountains. crackled and rusted with a little village.

My altered turtle shell

my altered turtle shell
I painted the whole inside of the shell with blue iridescent luminescence. Added shells and other embellishments, the saying came from altered arts magazine. They showed this done on a shell. My turtle shell is 12 x 10 and stands on a plate rack. It has sand and lots of glitter added. The picture is an older man reading to a group of children on the beach. Don't know where the picture came from. When you have so many(as you all know) you kind of forget where they came from.

Can I figure out everything????

Believe me I am trying to figure it out, pictures, settings, photobucket ebay, so many things, my mind can't even hold it all.
Trying to get myself on a routine schedule for good health ,exercise , too much gossiping going on. trying to be a happier person, stronger and more organized. Is it the New year, or all the snow in WI? Doing a lot of projects, planning some new changes in the house, decorating, new painting technique on an unfinished buffet, doing some auctions.
I find a lot of things seem to be unfair in the big picture, The rulea are not always the same for everyone. that bothers me, I think consistency is the key to everything. What's good for one is good for another. What do you think?
