May she rest in peace.

Betty Louise Bell-Miller died Friday, July 22, 2011, after a valiant battle with cancer. She passed away at home with the unstoppable love, support, and care of her husband, Gerald Miller, who was a great comfort to her both in sickness and in health. Betty was a long-time resident of the stateline area. She was a quilter, a gardener, an interior designer, an artist, a reader, a seamstress, a needleworker and a blogger. She will be greatly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a feisty ally and a generous friend. She will not be forgotten.
Betty will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Gerald, her daughter, Vicki, her son Michael, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her step-son Gerald jr. and his family, and her half-brothers and sisters, Karen, Karla, Steven and Robert.
As an only child, Betty is preceeded in death by her mother, Eliza Beth Sitone', and her father, Theron Glen Bell.
A memorial service will be held on Wed, July 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. to celebrate her life.

Betty has requested that the following quote be etched upon her grave marker:

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.

Tutorial for Matchbox dolls!

The first thing you are going to do is paint your matchbox inside and out with paint to match your image, allow to dry.A piece of coordinating paper in bottom of box and wrap the outside, you are going to have to score to get the proper fold, dry. When you print your image , print 2 about 7 inches high. Cut off head about 3/4 of the size of the inside of the matchbox.
This would be a good time to decorate your girls' hair, jewels, necklace etc.
Cut 2 rest of bodies.
Cut off 2 the length of the matchbox.
The top is layered with pop dots to give it dimension. Glue to top of matchbox, add flowers ,lace . Pop dot the two skirts together and add a piece of cardstock to glue on back. Add lace, ribbon,Add a hanger on the back.I added wings and blue stickles to decorate them

The other is done almost the same way but the opening in the box is in the stomach area, which I used as a nest with eggs, moss and a bird. She has wings and a birdhouse by her shoulder.
The images are here for you to use(if you choose.
If this is not clear enough ,just ask and I will help in any way I can. Happy Mother's DayHave a great day!!

Gather your supplies!

On Monday I will put up the tutorial for the matchbox dolls, in the meantime, you might want to collect your supplies: small matchbox--girl image app. 6 inches-tissue paper or flowered napkin to cover matchbox- If you have a theme , gather what you will need to put in the matchbox, for instance if you choose to make a sewing doll then you would put sewing notions in your open box,a thimble, buttons,Needle and thread, etc. Two layers of cardstock for the doll, A ribbon hanger on the back. You will use decoupage Or because I am cheap, I mix elmers and water in equal amounts for decoupage.
